Don't let anyone else decide how you play tanking can be extremely rewarding and make a not so good group shine with the right tank. Also in open world content/quest you can 100% go tank spec it will just take longer to kill stuff but u will rarely die, as ret on the other hand you will do way more damage but take more in open world/quests so it's up to you. I would recommend another adding called GTFO it plays a loud blairring sound when you are standing in something you shouldn't be, just be aware when u move out of it try to keep the mobs faced away from dps and heals. As far as dbm is concerned it just gives you some heads up of what casts and abilities will come next and like when to soak some stuff. Mythic and Mythic + are harder of course but by the time your running those you will have a good feel for them and will learn more as u go.
